Lindsey Lim

Lindsey Lim is a student at Poolesville High School in Maryland. She has played the violin for nine years. She has been a member of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras for seven years and a part of the All State Orchestra for 3 years. She won first place in the 2021 MSMTA Unaccompanied Bach Competition. She is also a member of the 3+1 String Quartet. The 3+1 String Quartet was formed in 2015 from their leadership positions in Preparatory Strings of MCYO, directed by Maestro Jorge Orozco. The quartet won first place in the Maryland State Music Teacher Association Strings Plus Competition in 2018 and has achieved multiple prizes in the Misbin Family Memorial Chamber Music Competition, Young Musicians Inspiring Change Metropolitan Music Festival, and International Music Organization New York Competition. The 3+1 String Quartet has performed the winner’s concert at the National Gallery of Arts in 2017 and at the Lincoln Center in 2019. The quartet has also performed in masterclasses with the Brooklyn Rider String Quartet, Doric String Quartet, and Maestro Roberto Valdes. She has also played a benefit concert for Shalom Scholarship to raise funds for students in El Salvador and the Donor’s Reception of the Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She volunteers to provide music lessons to young kids for YMIC.
