Molly Smith is currently a student of Professor of Jihea Hong-Park, at Brigham Young University. In the 2019 Salt Lake Piano Competition, she took first place in solo division as well as the concerto division. That year, she also received honorable mention from the American Fork Symphony concerto competition and the Utah Music Teachers Association piano concerto competition. She plays the piano with Paradigm’s jazz band and chamber orchestra, and accompanies Paradigm’s choirs. She has performed in three musicals on the keyboard, and plans to play in more as soon as possible. She loves to learn and compose music; she often creates medleys of many kinds of music, from hymns to movie soundtracks. When she’s not on the piano, Molly fills sketchbooks with colorful doodles and reads novels.
