Piers Rhee is an honor student and a junior at Trinity Preparatory School. He has played the piano for twelve years, since he was five-years old. He has achieved Level 11 Student Day certification by the Florida Music Teachers Association, member of the Music Teachers National Association. He recently won Second Place, American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, Spring 2022, in the age group 17–19. On the basis of this award, he will play in Season 2023 Recitals at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York. His repertoire includes: Sergei Rachmaninoff, Prelude in C sharp minor, Op. 3 No. 2; Frederic Chopin, Ballade, Op. 23, No. 1, Nocturne in B flat minor Op. 9 No. 1, and Prelude in B minor Op. 28, No. 6; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sonata No. 11 in A major K. 331 Ill Alla Turca; Johann Sebastian Bach, Prelude No. 2 in C minor BWV 847 and Invention #14 in B-flat major BWV 785; Ludwig van Beethoven, Sonata, Op. 13 No. 8 and Sonata Op. 49, No. 2 in G major. In addition to being a fine musician, Piers has played competitive soccer twelve years. He plays on his school’s varsity soccer team.
