Valentine Baron

Valentine Baron is a native of France and recently finished her D.M.A. in Voice Performance at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, studying voice and opera with Dr. Linda Lister. Her research specialty is the French opera comique genre, the history of the French operetta, the technical development of light coloratura sopranos, and the practice of vocal agility in the voice studio. Dr. Baron has taught voice lessons as an adjunct instructor of voice at both University of Nevada, Las Vegas and New York University. As a professional singer, she has performed with different companies: Regina Opera Company, New York Lyric Opera Theatre, Opera Las Vegas, and Vegas City Opera. Favorite operatic roles include: La Fée in Cendrillon, Frau Silberkläng in Der Schauspieldirektor, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Stella in La fille du tambour-major, Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld, and The Girl in Strawberry Fields. Passionate about helping charities and others, Dr. Baron regularly performs recitals for donation. In 2019 she raised funds to help the research to treat patients suffering from epilepsy. Dr. Baron is the winner of the SACEM Prize (2011) at the Young European soloist competition in Luxembourg, second prize winner (2013) of the Paris Competition “Les Clés d’or” and placed third (2021) at the Cal-Western region NATS Artist Award (NATSAA) competition. 
Dr. Baron holds a bachelor and a master in musicology from the Université Paul Valéry in France and a master of vocal performance and pedagogy from New York University.
