Andrew Kim started playing piano when he was 10 years old. He’s from South Korea, and has won 1st place in numerous competitions, including the Korean Gifted Music Youth Education Association competition and the International Youth Culture Association competition. He was never a professional music student but always has fervor for playing the piano as an amateur pianist, seeking for creative and thoughtful interpretations. He studies with Mr. Pierpont at The Taft School as a freshman and plays in the Taft Chamber Orchestra. Andrew also received acclaim from the pianist Mikhail Pletnev, and regularly receives feedback from the great pianist, too.
