Chandler began studying piano at the age of five with his teacher, Alice Chiang, and has continued learning with her ever since. What began as an effort to develop patience and focus has grown into a meaningful musical journey. Over the years, he has developed a deeper appreciation for piano and enjoys the challenge of learning and expressing music through performance. Although this is his first competition experience, he is excited to step outside his comfort zone, share his music, and continue growing as a young musician.
Watch Chandler Val Maun perform Sonata K.545, Rondo movement by Mozart on the piano for the 2026 Autumn Music Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
