Adhijay Arvind

Adhijay Arvind has been a cellist since age seven, performing as principal cellist of the Hackley School orchestras since elementary school. He is currently the principal cellist of Hackley School’s middle school orchestra. In addition to his leadership at school, he has been a member of the Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra Association, a selective orchestra for talented youth in Westchester County, NY, for over four years. Adhijay was selected for the Honors Program at the Hoff-Barthelson Music School, Scarsdale, NY, in 2024 and has been studying with Mr. Peter Seidenberg (B.M. Eastman School of Music, M.M. New England Conservatory, & Artist Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music). He also serves as the youngest member of the esteemed Festival Orchestra at Hoff-Barthelson Music School. In his most recent NYSSMA auditions, Adhijay scored an A+, receiving feedback such as “gorgeous phrasing,” “superb performance,” and “a very musical and mature interpretation.” In addition to the cello, Adhijay is also an avid vocalist, learning western classical singing from Dr. Andrea Saposnik (B.M. Oberlin Conservatory, B.A. Oberlin College, M.M. Yale University, & Boston Conservatory at Berklee Vocal Pedagogy Program Certification). He scored an A+ for vocal in the most recent NYSSMA vocal auditions. Additionally, Adhijay is the recipient of the Hackley Music Award for the best instrumentalist in the Middle School.
