Amelia Elise Cunningham

Amelia Cunningham is a senior at Rutgers University at the Mason Gross School of Music majoring in violin performance and minoring in education. She currently studies violin with Professor Christina Bouey, cello with Euijin Park and theory/composition with Tim Keyes. Amelia has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York State Symphony, served as concertmaster of Rutgers Sinfonia, performed and recorded with Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, and appeared as a guest artist with Rutgers University Choir. She has given four solo recitals at Rutgers University, with two more scheduled this year. She has worked with renowned musicians such as Xiaotong Wang and Kerson Leong. Her orchestral experience includes membership in the Higher Word Orchestra, Plainfield Symphony, Hunterdon Symphony, and the Tim Keyes Consort, with whom she toured and performed extensively. As both composer and performer, Amelia premiered her solo violin work Graham’s Crossroads in South Carolina (Summer 2023) and her orchestral work Irish Overture at Richardson Auditorium with the Tim Keyes Consort (June 2025). In addition to performing, Amelia is a passionate educator. She teaches violin, viola, cello, and piano at Octopus Music School, Faith Center, and through her own private studio, where she emphasizes versatility, technique, and creativity. She is also expanding her expertise to include upright bass, preparing for a future career as a well-rounded orchestra director and music educator.
