Amrita Meda, an 8th-grade violinist from Charlotte, North Carolina, embarked on her musical journey just two years ago. Fuelled by an unwavering dedication to mastering the violin, she swiftly achieved remarkable milestones. In her 6th grade, Amrita’s talent earned her a place in the prestigious Charlotte Mecklenburg School Honors Orchestra. As the concertmaster for her school orchestra, she also made a mark in the Junior Western Regional and NC-ASTA All State Orchestras. In her current 8th-grade year, Amrita’s commitment continues to shine. She reclaimed the role of concertmaster for her school orchestra, secured a place in the CMS Orchestra, and maintained her position in the NC-ASTA All State Orchestra for the second time. Additionally, she is an active member of the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras. Beyond local orchestras, Amrita aspires to explore new avenues in her musical journey. She sought to audition for the Honors Performance Series to further enrich her experiences. Her love for classical music extends beyond the technical aspects, as she aims to immerse herself in its rich cultural and historical tapestry. Amrita attributes much of her success to her dedicated teacher and mentor, Mr. Ryan Namkoong. Grateful for his guidance, she acknowledges his role in refining her skills and shaping her into the accomplished violinist she is today.
