
Mandukhai Setsen Khatan (1449–1510), known in English as Mandukhai the Wise, was an immensely powerful 15th-century Mongolian empress. She is celebrated in Mongolian history for her military leadership, political brilliance, and reunification of the Mongol Empire after decades of fragmentation following the collapse of the Yuan Dynasty. Cinema: Her life was immortalized in the acclaimed 1988 Mongolian historical film, Queen Mandukhai the Wise.Music: The sweeping orchestral soundtrack from the film, composed by Natsag Jantsannorov, remains highly popular and is frequently performed and arranged for piano and various instruments.
Uran Khas” (Skillful Khas) is the first professional ballet in Mongolian classical music, famously composed in 1973 by the acclaimed Mongolian conductor and violinist Jamyangiin Chuluun. The Uran Khas Waltz: The most famous segment of the score is the Uran Khas Waltz. It has become an iconic, universally recognized melody in Mongolia, used frequently as both concert hall repertoire and ballroom dance music.
