I, Anisha Haldar, a 13-year-old girl, began my musical journey at seven when my mother encouraged me to take lessons in voice and piano, which eventually sparked my passion for singing, and it kept growing strong. In my music school, I have always participated in recitals, and I wanted to take my performance skills to the next level. So, recently, I joined the Eternity Band, a Bay Area community music group where we perform volunteer shows in libraries, train stations, airports, and different county fairs. I am the lead singer as well as a keyboardist in this band. Through my experience performing in front of a larger audience, I gained the confidence to enter competitions, winning second place in the international Great Composers Competition, among other awards, which significantly boosted my confidence. Music has not only taught me the importance of teamwork and collaboration but has also helped me to shape my identity and values. It feels great to share the love of music while helping others and making a positive impact in the community.
