Apolonia Hobbs (born April 24, 2010) is a 15-year-old pianist and multidisciplinary performing artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently a sophomore at the Arizona School for the Arts, where she studies piano, trumpet, and regularly performs as a soloist and ensemble musician in school concerts and masterclasses. Apolonia has studied piano privately since 2016 and currently works with Ms. Snezana Krstic, following earlier studies with Ms. Stella Sapperstein.
Apolonia has presented solo piano recitals since 2018 and was selected to participate in the Arizona Piano Institute in June 2024. Her pianistic achievements include multiple awards at the Phoenix Music Teachers Association (PMTA) Fall Festival—earning Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals over several years—as well as a Superior rating in the Junior High Division of the Dean & Carolyn Elder Piano Competition in 2025.
In addition to piano, Apolonia is an accomplished ballet dancer in the Pre-Professional Program at School of Ballet Arizona and has performed with several ballet organizations throughout Arizona. She trains vigorously every day of the week and has also participated in the Ballet Arizona and Colorado Ballet Academy Summer Intensive programs in 2023, 2024 & 2025. Her instrumental experience includes trumpet and violin, with performances in school ensembles, the Arizona All-State Band Festival, and the Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras.
Apolonia currently studies trumpet privately with Mr. Noah Dugan and, in 2025, joined the Big Band at The Nash Jazz Club’s Youth Education Program in Phoenix under the guidance of Mr. Clark Gibson. She plans to diversify her understanding of musicality by incorporating and introducing herself to avant garde music styles. Through her diverse training in music and dance, she brings a high level of musicality, discipline, and expressive depth to her piano performances.
