Aubrey Dahnbi Yu

Aubrey Yu is the principal flute of Redlands High School Wind Ensemble, of which she has been a part from freshman to senior year. She has been first chair flautist since junior year, and continues to hold that spot her senior year. In 2025, she was selected to perform in the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Honor band, in which 6 flautists were chosen to perform in the ensemble at Garden Grove. She also partook in All-San Bernardino County Honor Band in 2024 as principal flute and 2025 as secondary flute.

Aubrey first began learning flute in sixth grade and began studying music when she was only 6 years old. From “Hot Cross Buns” to Mozart’s Flute Concerto no. 1 in G-Major, she has always had a passion for music, especially classical flute repertoire. She hopes to continue playing flute in the future through joining non-major ensembles.

Watch Aubrey Dahnbi Yu perform Flute Concerto in G Major, Op. 29, I. Allegro by Carl Philipp Stamitz on the flute for the 2025 Romantic Music Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
