I am Aviroop Pal and I’ve played the piano since I was six years old. Over time, the piano has become a meaningful part of my life, giving me joy in performing for others and growing as a musician. I continually work to strengthen my technique and musicality, striving to become a skilled and expressive player.
In order to grow my musical ability, I have performed in community recitals from a young age to the present, and for the past two years I was evaluated through the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), earning MTAC State Honors. My artistic development has been reflected in recent competition results and performance invitations. I am a 3rd Prize winner of the Opus Music Competition 2025 at the state level, advancing to the national competition, and a 2nd Prize winner of the Special Venue Music Awards International Music Competition 2025, being invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. I am also a Medalist at the US Open Music Competition (2025, Oakland), where I performed Chopin’s “Minute” Waltz and Mozart’s Sonata in F Major, KV 332.
The current set of repertoire I’m studying includes Chopin’s Scherzo No. 2 in B-flat minor, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 5, Bach’s English Suites, Liszt’s Gnomenreigen, and Fazıl Say’s Paganini Jazz. I plan to continually refine my musical ability through these pieces as they allow me to polish my technical ability while simultaneously developing my musical expression.
Watch Aviroop Pal perform Scherzo No. 2 in B-Flat Minor, Op. 31 by Frédéric François Chopin on the piano for the 2026 Winter Music Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
