My name is Ayşe Ada Cengiz. I’m 12 years old and as long as I remember, playing the piano has been a big part of my life. I have been playing since I was 4, this means since I was in preschool. I have been taking piano classes twice a week since then. When the lockdown happened (I was 7), I unfortunately had to pause playing since my piano school where I used to take lessons at had to shut down. Even though I couldn’t take lessons, I never stopped playing. I switched to a private teacher when the lockdown ended and took classes there twice a week until I moved to a different city.
When I moved to Bodrum, I started taking lessons from my current teacher, at 2023. At 2024, I added extra classes to my piano schedule. I still take those extra classes and I think they improve me even though not as much as my main teacher. I take piano lessons and music theory lessons now. I try to keep up playing the piano as much as I try to keep up my classes.
I have participated in ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Grade 2, and passed with distinction. I am currently waiting for my marking of Grade 3. I have also participated in 2024 Mozart Academy International Piano Festival and Competition, and 2025 ADS International Gülsin Onay Piano Festival and Competition.
