
Baohan Hou has studied classical piano for 11 years and currently studies with Nina Polonsky. His dedication has earned him wins at the OMTA Buckeye Piano Competition and Orbetello Piano Competition, First Prize and Grand Prize at the U.S. New Star Piano Competition, and Honorable Mention at the NASO Concerto Competition. Through these competitions and numerous recitals, he has developed technical precision and confidence across diverse repertoire.
Beyond solo piano, Baohan plays viola in his school’s chamber orchestra and regularly accompanies orchestra performances, demonstrating his versatility as a collaborative musician. Outside of music, he balances his artistic pursuits with playing hockey for his school team and competing in Science Olympiad and HOSA, where he has earned multiple awards. These varied interests reflect his commitment to excellence and ability to manage demanding tasks.
