Sonora Trio is a debut artist chamber ensemble of Junior Chamber Music. Known for their innovative programming, the trio brings hidden musical treasures to life with both sensitivity and virtuosity. The members of Sonora Trio have earned accolades in international competitions and performed in prestigious venues around the world.
Bethany Kim has received first place awards from the Charleston International Music Competition, Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition, Golden Classical Music Awards, and the Southwestern Youth Music Festival. She also earned second place at the Enkor Competition and the Great Composers Competition.
Lydia Kang has been selected as a member of NYO-USA 2025 and has claimed first place in the Charleston International Music Competition, Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition, Golden Classical Music Awards, American Protégé International Music Competition, and the King’s Peak International Music Competition.
Christine Choi has received honors from the Charleston International Music Competition, San Francisco International Young Artists Competition, and Southwestern Youth Music Festival. She was recently featured as a soloist with the South Coast Youth Symphony Orchestra, performing Cécile Chaminade’s Concertino for Flute and Orchestra.
