Braden Hong began playing the violin at the age of six, showcasing significant talent, appreciation, and understanding for the beautiful instrument. Although he had already grown up in a heavily music-focused household, his dedication and deep passion for music truly stemmed from his love for the violin. He currently performs with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and previously served as the assistant concertmaster for the Junior Orchestra. He also serves as the concertmaster of the Concert Orchestra at Interlake High School.
He has achieved several memorable feats, including winning multiple First Place titles at PAFE, (Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside), winning the honorable mention award at KMA (Korean Music Association) in 5th grade while competing against significantly older contestants, and most recently, competed in the playoffs at the Solo and Ensemble festival.
Outside of violin, Braden enjoys playing video games, listening to music, and playing basketball, which helps create balance in his life.
Watch Braden Sukjoon Hong perform Violin Concerto No. 2 in D Minor, Op. 22 by Henryk Wieniawski on the violin for the 2026 Winter Music Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
