Brian Liu

Brian Liu was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He started playing piano at the age of 5. He also decided to pick up the cello in the third grade, when his school offered orchestra class. He currently studies piano with Dr. Alexander Wasserman and cello with Dr. Alexis Lee.

He has participated in the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra (ASYO) and the Atlanta Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) as principal cellist since 2023. Furthermore, he has attended the Georgia Music Educator’s Association’s (GMEA) All-State Orchestra every year since 2023.

Brian has won the title of First Alternate Concert Recitalist for the 2025 Georgia Music Teacher’s Association’s (GMTA) piano competition and was the winner of the 2025 MYSO Concerto & Scholarship Competition.
