Catherine Marie Webb

Catherine Marie Webb has been captivated by a range of classical music, especially piano, since the age of two. Though she spends time between the United States, Brazil and Chile, she always has access to a piano and enjoys practice each day.

Her formal lessons, however, are limited to her time in Chile where she has studied at Papageno the last eight months. Catherine is notably the youngest student ever admitted to Papageno where she receives instruction in Spanish, her third language after English and Portuguese.

Nestled in Patagonia, Papageno was founded by a Viennese donor and is renowned for its emphasis on Mozart’s works. Catherine gave her first recital there, performing before a large audience after only one month of lessons and was determined to play four pieces.

Considered by her teacher and others as very near pitch perfect, Catherine can correctly identify any note played on the piano and even recognize the melodies of complex symphonies With that said, being just four years old and quite energetic, Catherine delights in playing at a quick pace- marking her as a vibrant young talent.

Watch Catherine Marie Webb perform Russian Sailors Dance by Reinhold Glière on the piano for the 2026 Virtuoso Music Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
