
Celestine Wenzel Chandella is an Indonesian pianist born in Medan, North Sumatra. She began her piano studies at the age of 10 and has since developed a deep commitment to music alongside her academic pursuits. Although she did not pursue a formal degree in music, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Universitas Pelita Harapan, Medan, while continuing to advance her piano training independently and through mentorship.
Celestine has successfully completed the ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Examination, demonstrating a solid foundation in classical piano performance. Over the years, she has participated in a variety of prestigious national and international competitions, where she has received multiple honors. Among her notable achievements, she was awarded Top 3 Highest Score and Gold Prize in two categories at the Indonesia Piano Open Competition 2020. She also represented Indonesia at the Southeast Asia (SEA) International Piano Competition, where she advanced to the Final Round and was named a Silver Award recipient.
In addition to her competitive accomplishments, Celestine has enriched her artistic development by participating in several masterclasses with internationally recognized pianists, including Fenella Theodore, George Harliono, and others. These experiences have deepened her understanding of musical interpretation, performance practice, and technical refinement. Celestine is passionate about expressing emotion and storytelling through music. She continues to dedicate herself to growth as a pianist, striving to connect with audiences through thoughtful, expressive, and technically polished performances.
