Chase Manasvigangkul

My name is Chase Manasvigangkul, and I was born and raised in a small town in Florida. I have been homeschooled my entire life, and began playing the piano when I was five years old. I remember at the time my father saying to me that I needed to take music as seriously as I took my academics. At the time, I didn’t realize the impact that would have on me. Since neither of my parents had the opportunity to take music, they wanted my sister and I to be able to excel in something that was not afforded to them. A talented music teacher was recommend and they enrolled us in lessons with Ms. Ashley King. I have continued my music journey, for the past eleven years, under her tutelage.

At the time that I began lessons, I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I do now. When I first started playing, it felt like just another thing I needed to finish to get done with my schoolwork, but over the years my appreciation for the instrument has grown.

When I turned about ten years old, my father asked me for Christmas to learn a piece. So, Ms. King and I began working on Turkish March by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It changed my perspective on the instrument. From then on, I discovered that I loved piano more than anything, my passion began and I began to diligently pursue learning more about the instrument as a whole. I’ve learned to play the piano not just for an audience but also for myself. By doing so, people around me enjoy it even more.

In addition to solo performances, I aspire to perform in front of larger audiences. My ultimate goal is to become a concert pianist.
