Derek Huang is an eighth-grade student at Lakewood Middle School in Overland Park, Kansas. He began playing piano in first grade and has since earned multiple awards at the Kansas State Piano Competition and Midwestern Music Festivals. Derek has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York and Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles as part of the Golden Classical Music Awards Winners Concerts. In addition to piano, he plays the flute in his school band. Passionate about music, Derek continues to refine his skills and share his artistry through performance.
