Ellie Amelia Weil is a 16-year-old student who began her musical journey at the age of 6, studying violin under Deena Shapiro. In 2023, Ellie expanded her studies to include the viola, continuing her lessons with Deena Shapiro for viola and Rafael Elvira for violin.
Ellie has been an active member of her school orchestra since kindergarten and is about to start her third year of performing with the Greater Miami Youth Symphony as a member of the Symphony Orchestra. During her first year of viola study, Ellie earned a spot in the 2024 Florida All-State Orchestra and returned in 2026. She placed 4th at the 2025 Charleston International Music Winter Competition, and won 1st place at the 2025 King’s Peak International Competition.
Beyond her passion for music, Ellie spends her time teaching young children to code, playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, and reading.
