Erin Yi

Erin Yi studies viola with Mrs. Sung Ah Min. She has been a member of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO) since 2018 and currently serves as the principal violist of the MCYO Philharmonic. Erin has also participated in the Maryland All-State Junior Orchestra in 2023 and 2024, and she has been selected as the principal violist of the Maryland All-State Senior Orchestra for 2026.

As a young competitor, Erin has earned numerous awards, including three first-place honors: the YMIC Metropolitan Solo & Chamber Music Festival (2018), the YMIC Metropolitan Gospel Music Festival (2020), where she received the Special Jury Award, and the Crescendo International Music Competition (2022), which culminated in a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Outside of music, Erin enjoys skiing, bike riding, swimming, playing tennis, and spending time with her family and friends.
