
Farrah Li began studying the double bass in 2021 with Chien-Chien Lee in California, after previously studying piano from 2020 to 2025. She has performed with the Hawaii Youth Symphony, advancing from the String Orchestra Ensemble to the Concert Orchestra, where she studied with John Gallagher and performed under Wayne Fanning.
In 2024, Farrah was accepted into the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), where she studies double bass with Ryan Baird and performs with the school’s String and Chamber Orchestras. She has served as principal double bass of her string orchestra and currently performs in chamber ensembles, including a Double Bass Trio. In 2025, she was accepted into the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic and performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Farrah has received numerous awards, including prizes at the Prodigy International Music Competition, London Young Musician, American International Music Competition, and Charleston International Music Competition. She has participated in masterclasses with Mikyung Sung, Grammy Award–winning cellist Tina Guo, and violinist Callum Smart.
