Greisi Voja

I am Greisi Voja, an international student from Albania in Europe, following my undergraduate studies in Dahlonega, Georgia. I am a senior-level music student at the University of North Georgia, majoring in piano performance. The piano has always been an important instrument for me, where I express my emotions as I make music on the keyboard.
As a pianist, I have participated in different GMTA (Georgia Musical Teacher Association) piano competitions, where I have earned twice the “Outstanding Performer” award and once the “Honorable Mention” award. I have also performed in different masterclasses at UNG and “Georgia Musical Group” (GMG). Like GMTA, the “Georgia Musical Group” also encourages participation in classical music programs by promoting an ever-growing circle of membership of people from different groups who enjoy playing and listening to classical music. Among musical activities conducted by GMG are master classes with professional musicians.
As a sophomore at UNG, I participated in a GMG masterclass with Jura Margulis, an internationally recognized concert pianist and master teacher. Having a master class with Mr. Margulis was an invaluable experience: he taught me so much in terms of better controlling the sound that I produce on the keyboard and how to be more proficient in kinesthetic approach (physical motions when playing piano, like hand movement and arm weight), helping me to perform satisfactorily.
I have also performed in different masterclasses and Concerto/Aria competitions at UNG and often participated as a collaborative pianist for the UNG Wind Ensemble and a church pianist for the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at Gainesville. I look for different performing possibilities in solo or collaborative positions to share my music with the world.
