Guangkai Lucas Wu is fourteen years old and lives in Solon, Ohio. He began to learn playing violin at the age of four with Quan Ge and piano at the age of seven with Dr. Feifei Jiang. He passed with merit the grade 4 piano performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in 2022. He served as the concertmaster for his middle school orchestra and Lincoln Youth Ensemble of Strings, when he was in the middle school. He has given a number of performances at school and regional music festivals. Lucas won second place for his piano performance in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition in 2024.
