Hailyn Jung, Viola
Fifteen-year-old violist Hailyn Jung began studying viola at the age of ten and currently studies with Karin Brown, Associate Principal Violist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. She is a member of the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra Concert Orchestra and a recipient of the Kappelman Scholarship, a merit-based award recognizing musical excellence.
In 2023, Hailyn received Honorable Mention in the BSYO Concerto Competition and was selected for the Maryland Junior All State Orchestra in 2024. She has attended prestigious summer programs, including the Greenwood Chamber Music Camp and the Meadowmount School of Music, where she studied with faculty such as Caroline Coade and Ayane Kozasa.
Outside of music, Hailyn is a varsity cross-country runner, helping her team earn second place at the Bull Run Invitational. She maintains a 4.0 unweighted GPA (4.78 weighted) and pursues both her academic and artistic passions with dedication.
