Ensemble Introduction
Formed by four dedicated young musicians—Jaden Kim (oboe), Kayla Chong (cello), Luke (viola), and Yuni Lee (violin)—who came together after meeting at the Colburn Summer Chamber Music Intensive 2026.

Jaden Kim
Jaden Kim is a 10th grader at Diamond Bar High School, where he is a member of the Performing Arts Academy (PAA) , advanced music program. He has been studying the oboe for five years under the tutelage of Aki Nishiguchi. Jaden has participated in both the All-Southern and All-State honor band / orchestra for the past two years, as well as the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (LAYPO) in 2025. He also attended the Interlochen Arts Camp as a member of the Intermediate Symphony Orchestra (ISO). He regularly performs with his church ensemble, playing monthly for local senior center residents.

Kayla Chong
Kayla Chong is a 13-year-old 8th grader at Firm Foundation Christian Academy. She began her musical studies on piano and violin before discovering her passion for the cello at age 7. Kayla currently studies with Maggie Parkins. She has been a member of both the Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestra (CYSO) and the Claremont Young Musician Orchestras (CYMO) for the last 3 years. She recently won the CYSO concerto competition and was the featured soloist with the Claremont Symphony Orchestra at the beginning of 2026. Kayla has also performed at Carnegie Hall, USC, and the Colburn School for winning national and state medals in both cello and piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She also won first place in her cello division at the 2025 John Child Walker Competition, the IAPMT Spring Competition 2026, as well as the 2026 Ivy Strings Competition, where she won a masterclass with renowned cellist Clive Greensmith. Most recently, she won first place in both the Junior Division of the Claremont Young Artist Music Competition 2026 as well as the Musical Arts Competition of Orange County (MACOC) 2026.

Luke Lee
Luke is a 14-year-old violist who is based in Fullerton. He has been playing the viola for 3 years and is a freshman in the Orange County School of the Arts and studies with Alexander Granger. While studying music, he has played in the Grand Winners Competition for the 2026 Satori Summer Music Festival and played in the winners concert for the 2026 MAC Musical art Competition of Orange County. Additionally, he is involved with many great orchestras including All state 2025-26, PSSS 2025-26, PSYO 2026-27, and LAYPO 2023-24, winning Grand in the ASTA National Orchestra Festival with PSSS.

Yuni Lee
Yuni Lee is an eighth grader at The Nueva School, who began playing the violin at the age of six. She has received multiple awards in competitions, including KAMSA, USIMC, the Silicon Valley Music Competition, VIVO, and the Crescendo International Competition. Recently, she attended the Colburn Chamber Music Intensive and the KAMSA Youth Orchestra.
