Six-year-old Jeanne Lee began studying piano in August 2025. When her mother, a violinist, plays the violin, Jeanne often finds the melody on the piano by ear and accompanies it, or hums and sings along with remarkable musical intuition.
She has expressed a heartfelt aspiration to care for sick animals one day, believing that playing the piano for them would bring comfort and help them recover more quickly.
Jeanne greatly enjoys the musical The Lion King and takes immense pride in being able to play selections from the show. Her ability to perform music she loves has strengthened both her confidence and her enthusiasm for learning.
Watch Jeanne Lee perform I Just Can’t Wait To Be King from “The Lion King” by Elton John on the piano for the 2026 Winter Music Competition as part of the Charleston International Music Competition.
