Joyce Wen

Joyce Wen, sixteen, from Irvine, California, has been studying piano from the age of three. She passed the Panel Division of the Certificate of Merit and was awarded with State Honors by the Music Teachers’ Association of California in 2024. Most recently, she won First Prize in the 2025 Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition and was selected to perform at the Solitär of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She also won First Prize in the 2024 Irvine Conservatory International Music Competition, leading to her Carnegie Hall solo debut in 2025. In 2023, Joyce achieved Second Prize in the Pacific Stars International Piano Competition. She was awarded Second Place in the 2022 Theme Festival and Third Place in the 2018 Romantic Branch Festival by the Music Teachers’ Association of California. After achieving Branch Honors in the 2022 Certificate of Merit Evaluation, Joyce was invited to perform in the Honors Festival at Chapman University. In 2019, she also received Branch Honors and was thus invited to perform at the State Convention in Santa Clara. Additionally, Joyce serves as the principal violinist of the Beckman High School Chamber Orchestra, in which she has led over 60 orchestra members in performances at Carnegie Hall, Segerstrom Hall, and more.
