My name is Justin Liaw, and I am 15 years old. I began my musical training in 2015 at U Music Education Foundation, focusing on percussion instruments and later expanding to piano in 2016.
I have been fortunate to receive several international awards, including third place in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, which led to a live performance at Carnegie Hall in June 2022. I am also a winner of the 2021 Piano Star Virtual Competition, the 2022 Kings Peak International Music Competition, the 2022 London Classical Music Competition, and the 2022 Quebec Online International Music Competition.
In addition to solo performance, I enjoy playing marimba in a chamber ensemble. With my group, we won the grand prize in the NLPA Music Competition and had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall in April 2022.
Participating in music competitions inspires me to keep improving and deepening my musical expression. I am excited to continue performing and sharing my passion with new audiences.
