Kevin Liu is 13 years old and an 8th grader at Oxford Academy in California. He has been studying the violin under the tutelage of Mrs. Korinne Hamblin since 2020 and has become a prolific violinist with notable accomplishments. He served as the concertmaster of Advanced Strings at Patton Elementary (2021-2024) and Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) Honor Orchestra (2021-2023). In 5th grade, Kevin was chosen to solo at the GGUSD Honor Orchestra Concert. In 2022 and 2024, Kevin performed in eight concerts on two concert tours with Mrs. Hamblin’s Sizzling Strings, including performances in Italy, Austria, and Germany. As a winner of The American Protégé International Concerto Competition in March 2025, Kevin performed at the winners’ concert in Carnegie Hall in June 2025. He also won concerto competition of California Association of Professional Music Teachers in Feb. 2025. Besides his solo performances since 2021, Kevin has performed with Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings at Segerstrom Concert Hall, California All-Southern, LA Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at Walt Disney Concert Hall, toured with Oxford Academy Orchestra and performed at Chicago Symphony Hall. Through the music journey, Kevin truly appreciates music as a universal language to connect people in different parts of the world beyond cultural barriers.
