Lawrence Hu

Lawrence started music at 4, learning xylophone. He started violin at 5, currently studying under Chen-Wen Su at Encore Music Arts Academy. In his leisure time, he enjoys art, volleyball and playing video games. He is currently 13. He is also the principal second violin at Bay Area Youth Music Society (a non-profit organization dedicated to improving society through music by performing and volunteering for seniors and hosting annual charity concerts), plays chamber viola and also sings. He recently entered the San Francisco Innovative Music Competition and won first place with Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1. He has also qualified for the California Orchestra Director Association’s Allstate Youth Orchestra.
