Lisa Sun

Lisa Sun is currently a freshman at Hunter College High School. She began piano lessons at the age of four at School for Strings in New York City with Marina Obukovsky, Head of the Piano Department at School for Strings and a faculty member at Mannes College of Music Preparatory Division.

Lisa has performed in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall, and has participated in several masterclasses including ones taught by Steven Spooner, Jonathan Bass, and Malgosia Lis. She has been selected multiple times to perform in the Associated Music Teachers League (AMTL) Mid-Season Musicales. Lisa was awarded the Grand Prix Prize and won the Best Soloist Award in the 2025 New York Concert Festival International Competitions. One of her favorite musical experiences is playing chamber music at School for Strings.

Outside of piano, Lisa is a competitive chess player and a math enthusiast, and loves spending time with friends and family.
