Mark Runqi Li

A dedicated and passionate musician, Mark Li has studied classical saxophone since the age of nine with Christopher Blossom and enjoys performing both classical and jazz music. He has served as the principal alto saxophonist in the Maryland All-State Bands for three consecutive years, and leads numerous renowned chamber groups, among them the Aria Saxophone Quartet. In addition to saxophone, he has studied classical piano since the age of five and his studies have taken him to perform in settings such as Carnegie Hall and the Palladium.
Beyond instrumental music, Mark enjoys songwriting and singing, drawing inspiration from a variety of styles. He has also studied opera for many years, deepening his appreciation for vocal performance. Committed to fostering awareness of music and the arts in his community, he is passionate about advocating for equity and diversity in the arts, working to ensure that more people have access to meaningful musical experiences.
