Michael Sun

Michael Sun, 14, is a clarinetist at Juilliard Pre-College, studying under Professor Ayako Oshima Neidich. He performs as part of the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony and a Juilliard Pre-College Wind Quintet. Michael has received numerous recognitions, such as First Prize in the National League of Performing Arts Competition, First Prize in the Elite International Music Competition, Grand Prize in the Young Musician Olympia Competition, Second Prize in the PIMF Virtual Concerto Competition, 3rd place in the International Clarinet Association Junior Performance Competition, and becoming a finalist in the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Young Ensembles competition. He was selected to the New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) Honor Band and has served three times as principal clarinetist in the All-County Band. Michael has performed in reputable halls including Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall.
