A finalist and honorable mention in the Vandoren Young Artist Competition and the Shenandoah Conservatory Student Soloist Competition, Patrick Rippeon is an aspiring artist seeking to embolden the saxophone in the music world. Patrick has performed with numerous ensembles and artists, including multiple groups from Shenandoah Conservatory and McDaniel College, the Westminster Symphony Orchestra, Northern Neck Orchestra, and the Timothy Roberts Saxophone Quartet. In 2026, Patrick performed as the saxophone soloist for a new film project, recording La Création du monde by Darius Milhaud with the Shenandoah Conservatory Chamber Orchestra. As a passionate supporter of both new music and constant pedagogical revision, Patrick participated in the world premiere of a pedagogical contemporary saxophone work, “Danse la pluie for five alto saxophones” by Nicolas Prost, Professor of Saxophone at the prestigious École Normale de Paris and the CRR of Saint-Maur, with Alfonso Padilla, Professor of Saxophone at Conservatorio Profesional de Música “Francisco Guerrero” in Sevilla, Spain. Furthermore, Patrick assisted in the expansion of saxophone ensemble repertoire through the
world premiere of a saxophone ensemble arrangement of Harry Janos made by another saxophonist, Joey Speranzo. Patrick has also enjoyed bringing the saxophone to the spotlight of the classical music world through featured appearances on the Breathtaking Neckstrap and JLV Sound Paris social media accounts. Patrick has studied with Dr. Timothy Roberts, Professor Jonathan Yanik, Professor David Duree, Mr. Ron Diehl, and Mr. Daniel Andrews. Patrick has performed in masterclasses for Professor Nicolas Arsenijevic, Professor Jean-Michel Goury, Mr. Matthew Carmichael, Mr. Juan Carlos Entrambasaguas, Professor Alfonso Padilla, Professor Dale Underwood, Professor Nicolas Prost, Dr. Joseph Murphy, and the Palmetto Saxophone Quartet. Patrick has also had lessons with Professor Taimur Sullivan, Dr. Doug O’Connor, Dr. Robert Young, Dr. Clifford Leaman, Professor David Pope, and Dr. Todd Goranson. Patrick is currently pursuing a Master of Music Performance degree with an emphasis in saxophone at Shenandoah Conservatory. He has enjoyed leading a successful private teaching studio, where his students have been accepted into a prestigious arts institution and advanced ensembles. In pursuit of artistic advancement through diverse interests, Patrick is also a graphic designer, proposal coordinator, quality assurance specialist, and marketing specialist for a small business in Columbia, Maryland.
