For Phoebe Wang, music is full of fun and surprises. At 10 years old, she loves discovering different musical personalities in the pieces she plays. One of her favorite things is turning her practice pieces into “mini-musical plays,” imagining each song as a story. This makes practicing much more fun and joyful. She feels that her competition piece, Variations on a Theme by Paganini, is a lot like her—full of energy, character, and unexpected turns.
Phoebe loves drawing and creating art. She also plays on a competitive volleyball team and often travels for tournaments. She is a mix of quiet thoughtfulness and high energy.
Phoebe’s first piano competition was the 2024 TMTA Merit Scholarship Auditions, where she earned Second Place and an Exemplary Piece award. In addition to piano, she has won top prizes in several art and design competitions, including winning the school yearbook cover design contest two years in a row.
She is very excited to participate in the 2026 Virtuoso Music Competition and looks forward to sharing her love of music with others.
