Rahul Anand

Hello! My name is Rahul Anand, and I’m a 15-year-old high school student passionate about science and music. I have been learning Hindustani Classical Music from Mr. Hemant Kulkarni for the past 10 years, exploring a wide range of raags and bandishes. It’s been a wonderful journey—one I have no intention of stopping. I’ve truly loved every moment of my musical career so far.
Over the past few years, I’ve won several competitions and have been invited to perform in India, including singing on stage with Shankar Mahadevan after winning his music contest. I’ve recorded songs with many incredibly youth musicians at Indian Raga’s Professional Recording studio at California, amassing over 100k+ views on YouTube.

Some of the awards and recognitions I’ve received include:
1st Place, Classical Music Category – Marathi Vishwa Competition: Swaradhara (2023–24)

2nd Place, Classical Music Category – Marathi Vishwa Competition: Swaradhara (2024–25). Here is a few words from the judges:

“…witnessed a remarkable display of talent and passion from the participants, who came not only from New Jersey, but also from neighboring states such as New York, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.”

2nd Place – AIMFA Indian Music Competition, Baltimore

Outside of vocal, I have been learning tabla under the guidance of Dr. Prathik Devasthale for the past 7 years. In January 2025, I achieved diploma-level proficiency in tabla, and I am currently preparing to complete my bachelor’s level certification by November 2025.
