
Rebecca Li is a 15-year-old pianist entering tenth grade, born in Los Angeles, California. She currently studies with Mark Salman in the state of Washington. She began studying piano at a young age and has achieved numerous awards throughout her musical journey. Rebecca won two silver medals at the Chopin Northwest Competition in 4th and 5th grade, as well as honors and overall prizes at the Simon-Fiset Competition in those same years. She also earned silver and bronze medals at the Pacific Northwest Competitions during 5th and 7th grade.
Rebecca consistently achieved Superior ratings at the Gold Cup Festival at ages 9, 10, 11, and 12, and in 5th grade, she passed ABRSM Grade 8 with a high score. In 6th grade, she developed her collaborative piano skills by accompanying her school choir, further broadening her musicianship.
In the summers of 2021 and 2022, Rebecca attended the University of Washington Piano Camp, where she deepened her technical and interpretive skills. In 8th grade, she fulfilled a long-held dream by performing at Carnegie Hall.
Outside of piano, Rebecca enjoys drawing and playing tennis. She aspires to continue developing as a pianist, sharing music that inspires and uplifts those around her.
