
Richard Deng, a junior at McLean High School, has demonstrated exceptional musical talent and dedication as a violinist with the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras (MCYO), where he has performed since the 4th grade. Beginning his journey in the Future Stars ensemble, he has risen to become concertmaster of the Young Artists Orchestra and beyond. Beyond his accomplishments in music, Richard is a driven student with a strong interest in law and public policy. He competes on McLean High School’s Debate and Mock Trial teams. He is also the founder and president of the McLean Political Science and Law Association, an organization he established to foster civic engagement and provide a platform for students to explore government, legal studies, and political thought.
