
Rik Deb is a freshman at Loyola High School in Los Angeles and started playing the piano at the age of 4. He initially attended the Los Angeles School of Music and now learns from Dr. Ross Mitchell (UCLA) as well as takes additional masterclass sessions with pianist Wayne Bethanis. Rik has recently started competing locally and nationally, including in the American Protégé as well as the AADGT and has been invited to perform in Carnegie hall in the winner’s recital. He recently was a winner in the Concert Artists International Music Competition and was awarded the gold medal by the AADGT for piano performance. He enjoys playing music from the classical and romantic periods with Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff as his favorite composers. Rik is currently the principal pianist of his high school orchestra and enjoys playing orchestral pieces on the piano with his friends. When he is not practicing the piano, Rik loves to play soccer and basketball.
