I’m Ronav Shah, a 13-year-old vocalist and guitarist in NYC, in 9th grade at Hunter College High School. I explore Western choral, jazz, rock, pop, and Indian classical music – a passion that began at age eight during COVID, inspired by my mom, a trained Indian singer. I study both with Mr. Nitin Sampat and Natalie Fabian, and sing with the National Children’s Chorus’ highest-level Scholar Ensemble, plus my school’s chamber group, jazz ensemble, and chorus. I’ve also been accepted into Mannes and MSM Precollege for voice while growing as a guitarist. I’ve performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Mumbai’s NCPA, and co-founded a show called Harmony Without Borders for Daniel’s Music Foundation. I won First Prize with Honors and Grand Prize at the music competition, IYMC International. Through Voices4Values, a family-led music initiative that creates fusion music, and the nonprofit ALTSO, I can inspire change through fusion.
