Russell Lin

Russell Lin is a dedicated young cellist whose classical music journey began at six, when he began lessons with cellist Katie Kennedy. Since then, he has developed into a skilled and expressive performer, earning recognition for his musical accomplishments across Connecticut and New England.

In 2025, Russell won second place in the Nutmeg Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition. That same year, he was selected to perform in the New England Music Festival Association’s annual festival, showcasing his talents among top student musicians.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, Russell joined the University of Hartford’s Hartt School Community Division, where he played in one of its youth orchestras and was a member of a chamber quartet. His passion for chamber music was also nurtured through his participation in the String Quartet Intensive at the Walnut Hill School in Massachusetts in the summers of 2023 and 2024, deepening his collaborative and interpretive skills.
