Ryan Jade Lee

Ryan Lee, 16, has studied cello with Brady Anderson since he was 9. He has performed at Carnegie Hall twice, through winning first place in the AFAF Concerto Competition and the American Protege Romantic Music Competition (with Judges’ Distinction Award). He has also been awarded first prize in other competitions, including the Korean-American Music Supporters’ Association Competition (KAMSA), the Music Teachers Association of California VOCE Alameda County section competition, and the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition. He has additionally won awards in the California American String Teachers Association (CalASTA) – San Francisco competition, United States International Music Competition (USIMC), and the International Grande Music Competition (IGMC). At school, he is first chair cellist for the Dublin High School Chamber Orchestra, and is a four-time California All State CODA Orchestra participant. In addition, he founded and runs the Dublin Chapter of Music4Heart, an organization that aims to bring delight and comfort to seniors by performing music at senior centers. Outside of playing cello, he enjoys reading classic literature, writing (analytic or otherwise), and math.
