
Ryeowon Kim is a junior at Branham High School in San Jose, California. She currently serves as the Associate Principal Flute of the California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and is an active member of her school’s Wind Ensemble. Ryeowon enjoys mentoring younger flute students and participating in community concerts and benefit events, using music to inspire others and give back to her community. She was recently awarded the Gold Medal Award at the 2024 CMEA State Solo and Ensemble Festival for her outstanding solo performance.
Chaebin Jang is a passionate oboist with several years of experience performing in both orchestral and solo settings. She has been a member of the San Jose Youth Symphony and the Almaden Youth Musicians ensemble for four years, and is currently participating in her school’s chamber music program. Last summer, she attended the Sequoia Summer Music Camp on scholarship, where she continued to grow as a performer and a chamber musician. Chaebin has also been recognized in several competitions, earning both first and second place awards from the Bay Area Music Association and Charleston International Music Competition. Outside of school, Chaebin loves to play soccer, hang out with friends, and go to the mall!
Chanmin You is a 15-year-old sophomore at Branham High School in San Jose, California. He has been playing the clarinet for about 4–5 years and has been involved in various music groups, including school marching band, concert band, and the San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS). Currently, he’s also part of Almaden Youth Musicians (AYM), a nonprofit organization that raises money for people in need through benefit concerts. In addition to his passion for music, Chanmin enjoys staying active through sports like swimming and tennis. Being involved in both music and athletics has taught him important life skills such as discipline, time management, and teamwork. These experiences have not only helped him grow personally but have also given him a better sense of direction for the future. Whether he’s performing on stage or competing in sports, Chanmin always looks for ways to challenge himself and keep improving.
Kimoon Bae is a sophomore at Valley Christian High School. Formerly a clarinet player, he has been playing bassoon for 3 years and is currently studying under Dr. Yueh Chou. Kimoon, who has participated in the San Jose Youth Orchestra since 2022, is currently second principal in the philharmonic orchestra. In the Chamber Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, he placed first. He participated in the All State Honor Band in 8th grade as well as the County Honor Band in 9th grade. Recently, he has been awarded the 2nd Prize in the IYMC Chamber, Ensemble, Duo, and Concerto Competition. Additionally, he has been a member of the HOPEBOX youth orchestra in 9th grade and KAMSA youth orchestra in 10th grade.
