I started taking vocal lessons when I was 11, drawn to pop music and the singers I heard on the radio. At 13, I found musical theatre. The storytelling pulled me in immediately, and I shifted my focus from pop hooks to character-driven songs, learning to act through music instead of just performing it.
By high school, I’d joined a community choir. Around the same time, I began classical vocal training, which gave me a technical foundation, and reshaped how I approached every style I sang. I have worked to combine all of the things I learned from these various styles as I mature as a singer.
