Seoyun Cho, Pianist

Born in South Korea in 2012, Seoyun first touched the piano at age five, instantly drawn to its ability to speak without words. What began as curiosity soon grew into a lifelong passion.

By six, she began performing in national competitions across Korea, participating in seven events that helped shape her as a young artist. In April 2022, she was awarded Second Prize at the Vienna Youth Music Competition—an international stage that recognizes outstanding young musicians and offers study opportunities in Austria. It was a moment that deepened her belief in the power of music to transcend borders.

At nine, Seoyun discovered Chopin’s Fantaisie-Impromptu, a turning point that sparked her love for musical storytelling. Now living in the United States, she continues her studies under Ms. Seo Kim, developing a refined touch and expressive depth. She regularly performs in recitals and masterclasses, sharing her growing musical voice.

Seoyun believes that music connects hearts across cultures. Through the Charleston International Music Competition, she hopes her music will resonate with listeners around the world.
